Manager, Applied AI Engineering
Job Summary
To lead strategic AI initiatives, the remote Manager, Applied AI Engineering will manage a team of AI-native engineers while also contributing technically to the design and implementation of scalable AI-powered applications.
Key responsibilities
- Operate as both a people manager and a hands-on tech lead, addressing complex technical challenges as needed
- Design, build, and maintain production-grade AI systems and manage the team's AI token and compute budget for cost efficiency
- Facilitate career development through mentorship and training opportunities for team members
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Strong hands-on experience with full software stack technologies, including frontend (Angular/React) and backend (Python, Node.js)
- Experience developing scalable AI solutions using LLM frameworks and AI services
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and modern development methodologies
