Manager of Coding Fellows

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time Manager of Coding Fellows will manage a portfolio of Fellows, ensuring their development and performance across multiple projects while maintaining technical credibility and fostering collaboration in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support Coding Fellows through regular communication, setting clear expectations, and partnering with People Operations on administrative matters
• Own cross-project performance management by gathering feedback, recognizing strong performance, and addressing concerns through improvement plans
• Coach growth and strengthen the program by holding career conversations and monitoring metrics related to quality and team health

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, technical leadership, or related fields, with direct management of programmers or software engineers
• Experience in AI/ML development, model evaluation, or technical-content production is beneficial
• Demonstrated experience in hiring, onboarding, and conducting performance reviews
• Experience managing people across multiple projects or teams in a consultancy or similar environment
• Technical depth to read and discuss code and assess engineering judgment
