Manager of Machine Learning Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a team of Machine Learning Engineers, the full-time Manager of Machine Learning Engineering will manage the development of platforms and infrastructure for machine learning models, focusing on real-time inference and streaming data systems in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of 4-6 Machine Learning Engineers, including hiring and performance management
• Set quarterly goals and ensure consistent delivery against product roadmaps and operational excellence
• Provide technical leadership in developing ML platforms and frameworks, guiding engineering practices and system reliability

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of management experience with direct oversight of engineering teams
• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience, including 3 years of hands-on Python experience
• Experience in building and operating machine learning systems in production
• Strong understanding of software quality, reliability, and production operations
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and machine learning tools such as AWS, GCP, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
