Manager of Optical Design Engineering

Job Summary

Leading a team of Optical Design Engineers, the full-time Manager of Optical Design Engineering will oversee the design, capital allocation, and implementation of new optical services on the DWDM network while ensuring project deadlines are met and performance targets are exceeded.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage project status updates and maintain customer commitments within the order management database
• Collaborate with field operations to resolve provisioning issues and verify technical data
• Participate in the development of engineering standards and implement cross-training plans for team members

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
• Minimum of seven years of telecommunications and/or data networking experience
• At least two years of experience in Telecommunications Project Management or as a Lead Engineer
• Working knowledge of optical systems and signal flow designs using ROADM technology
• Familiarity with optical systems such as Ciena, Cisco, and Infinera, among others
