Job Summary

To lead a growing newsroom, the full-time Managing Editor will oversee daily editorial operations, manage editorial staff, and uphold journalistic standards while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily editorial workflow and oversee staff reporters, editors, and freelance contributors
• Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief on editorial strategy and coverage priorities
• Ensure all published work aligns with editorial mission and standards for accuracy and impact

Required Qualifications

• Significant experience in journalism, including leadership roles in a newsroom
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong news judgment with a track record of shaping high-impact journalism
• Experience with fact-checking and editorial standards processes
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
