Mandarin Consecutive Interpreter

Job Summary

To facilitate effective communication, inexperienced Mandarin Consecutive Interpreters will provide remote interpretation services for phone calls and meetings, ensuring clarity and understanding while adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consecutive interpretation services during various over-the-phone situations
• Listen to speakers in the source language and accurately convey their messages in the target language
• Maintain professionalism and comply with industry best practices and company policies

Required qualifications

• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English
• HSK Level 5 or 6 certification required for non-native Mandarin speakers
• Proof of English language proficiency with a "Technical Proficiency" rating under the national ILR scale or equivalent
• Completion of a Mock Call assessment with a passing score
• Technical infrastructure, including a headset, stable internet connection, and laptop
