Job Summary
To enhance dynamic pricing strategies, the part-time Marketplace Pricing Scientist will analyze existing pricing logic, recommend optimized pricing models, and design experiments for live testing in a fully remote, six-month contract role.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate current pricing logic and quantify potential revenue losses
- Develop a shortlist of pricing approaches and recommend a model based on data analysis
- Create an experiment design for live testing and prepare a handover pack for data engineers
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in economic or optimization modeling in two-sided marketplaces
- Proficiency in mechanism design, causal inference, demand elasticity, and modern ML approaches to pricing
- Strong skills in Python and SQL, with experience working alongside engineers
- Master's or PhD in Economics, Operations Research, Statistics, or equivalent industry experience
- Fluent spoken Cantonese
