Maryland Database Developer
Job Summary
Fluent in SQL and passionate about data, the full-time remote Maryland Database Developer will architect clarity by building, optimizing, and maintaining data views for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), while supporting data ingestion and ETL workflows to enhance healthcare research.
Key responsibilities
- Support CMS by disseminating data to researchers focused on improving care quality and reducing costs for chronically ill beneficiaries
- Ingest new data sources into the CMS Chronic Conditions Data Warehouse (CCW) and maintain data views for accuracy and usability
- Design and support ETL workflows in a cloud data warehouse, ensuring reliability and scalability of data operations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, information systems, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a Database Developer, preferably in a government or healthcare setting
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, ETL development, and Snowflake data warehouse concepts
- Exposure to AI or Machine Learning for data quality and anomaly detection
- Understanding of data management best practices, including permissions, recovery, and security
