Maryland Licensed Cancer Data Specialist
Job Summary
Supporting the LifeBridge Health cancer program, the full-time Maryland Licensed Cancer Data Specialist will identify and abstract cancer-related data, ensure compliance with data collection standards, and perform follow-ups with patients and providers, with the potential for remote work after initial onsite orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately identify, collect, and abstract comprehensive cancer-related data using Cerner and/or Mosaiq
- Interpret pathology and treatment records to assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes
- Perform lifetime follow-up on cancer cases and support the development of Survivorship Care Plans
Required Qualifications:
- Experience as an Oncology Data Specialist is required
- Knowledge of cancer registry standards and relevant coding/classification systems
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR), preferably Cerner and Mosaiq
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Commitment to continued education and maintaining relevant credentials and certifications
