Job Summary
To enhance the quality and completeness of medical record documentation, the full-time Maryland Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will work remotely to facilitate accurate inpatient coding, collaborate with physicians and staff, and report on CDI program metrics.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct medical record reviews and ensure documentation meets coding standards
- Collaborate with inpatient coding professionals to reconcile assigned cases
- Report on and analyze metrics related to the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) program
Required qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree, associate degree, or diploma in nursing, or completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program, or Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) academic requirements
- Current certification as a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner (CDIP)
- Active RN license or Physician Assistant license in the state of residence
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting or relevant CDI experience
- Experience with acute inpatient coding for RHIT/RHIA candidates
