Job Summary
To enhance the quality of medical record documentation, the full-time Maryland Licensed Clinical Documentation Specialist will work remotely to facilitate accurate inpatient coding and collaborate with healthcare professionals on documentation improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitating the improvement of medical record documentation to ensure accuracy in coding and severity assignment
- Collaborating with physicians and staff to obtain appropriate documentation for concurrent reviews
- Conducting medical record reviews and reporting on clinical documentation improvement program metrics
Required qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree, associate degree, or diploma in nursing, or completion of an AMA-approved Physician Assistant program, or academic requirements for RHIT/RHIA certification
- Current RN compact license or PA licensure in the state of residence, or RHIT/RHIA certification
- Certification as a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Documentation Integrity Practitioner (CDIP)
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as an RN, PA, or in acute inpatient coding/CDI roles
- Experience in a complex acute care setting preferred
