Maryland Licensed Hospice Veterinarian

Job Summary

Offering a part-time opportunity, the Maryland Licensed Hospice Veterinarian will provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia services, allowing for professional autonomy and meaningful interactions with pet families in Nottingham and Bel Air, Maryland.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in-home pet hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services
• Independently travel to scheduled appointments, practicing effectively in a mobile veterinary care environment
• Educate and guide pet families through quality-of-life decisions and the euthanasia process with empathy and professionalism

Required qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD), BVMS, or equivalent veterinary medical degree
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided or eligibility to obtain one
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between scheduled appointments
• Demonstrated ability to communicate empathetically during sensitive end-of-life conversations
• Availability for rotational weekend scheduling as required by the position
