Job Summary

To support health information management, the full-time Maryland Licensed Inpatient Coder will review, code, and abstract medical records for inpatient services remotely, ensuring compliance with established coding standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and code medical records for inpatient services following established conventions and guidelines
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to documented diagnoses and procedures
• Group assigned codes to determine appropriate Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs) while ensuring accuracy and compliance

Required Qualifications

• Formal working knowledge equivalent to an associate degree in a specialized field
• Knowledge of medical coding principles, conventions, and guidelines
• Ability to accurately review medical records and assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
