Massachusetts Licensed Audit Abstractor

Job Summary

To support compliance and reimbursement audits, the full-time remote Massachusetts Licensed Audit Abstractor will accurately abstract protected health information (PHI), respond to third-party payer requests, and ensure timely fulfillment of documentation requests.

Key responsibilities

• Abstract and categorize protected health information (PHI) to support audits and compliance requirements
• Respond to third-party payer requests and ensure timely delivery of required documentation
• Maintain knowledge of billing requirements and enforce hospital confidentiality policies

Required qualifications

• Associate degree or high school diploma or equivalent required
• 1-2 years of experience in the Health Information Management field preferred
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical record components
• Experience with Epic clinical and/or financial applications preferred
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software
