Job Summary
Leading legal operations for the company, the full-time Massachusetts Licensed Legal Director will manage commercial contracts, employment, privacy, and corporate governance matters, working remotely or onsite in Boston while collaborating closely with the CFO and CEO.
Key responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate customer, partner, and vendor agreements, ensuring streamlined legal processes
- Advise on data privacy, security commitments, and open source licensing, while managing outside counsel and the legal budget
- Maintain and update contract templates and policies to reflect current market terms and compliance requirements
Required qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school and active license to practice in at least one US state, with eligibility to register as in-house counsel in Massachusetts
- 7-10 years of commercial legal experience, preferably in-house at a software or SaaS company
- Expertise in drafting and negotiating enterprise software agreements, including SaaS and data processing agreements
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal matters across teams and time zones
- Strong organizational skills and sound judgment regarding legal and commercial risks
