Material Strategy Director

Job Summary

To develop and implement material-specific strategies for sustainability, the full-time remote Material Strategy Director will manage cross-functional collaboration, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and ensure compliance with EPR requirements while supporting effective materials recovery systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain material-specific strategy recommendations to secure responsible outlets for recovered materials
• Facilitate cross-functional planning among teams to align material-specific priorities and support integrated program planning
• Collaborate with state teams to ensure alignment of material activities with organizational goals and escalate risks as necessary

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, materials science, or a related discipline, or 10+ years of relevant operational experience
• Strong understanding of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and materials systems
• Experience leading complex cross-functional projects or workstreams
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills
• Ability to develop and maintain consistency and accuracy across a portfolio of documents
