Job Summary

To support a novel advanced reactor design project, the remote Applied Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer will provide mechanical engineering support, focusing on design, evaluation, and documentation of mechanical systems in compliance with relevant codes and standards while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on the design of advanced reactor systems
• Perform mechanical system design and evaluation, ensuring compliance with ASME B31 and other relevant standards
• Document designs of electromechanical devices and oversee fabrication and assembly activities

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
• Minimum of six to eight years of relevant experience in mechanical system design
• Proficiency in ASME B31 series and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
• Experience with high-temperature springs and safety-related nuclear structures
• Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams on advanced reactor design activities
