Mechanical Engineer Lead

Job Summary

Serving as the primary on-site authority, the full-time salaried Data Center Services Mechanical Engineer Metro Lead will manage mechanical and HVAC-related engineering questions during the construction phase, ensuring optimal installation and integration of cooling infrastructures in a remote-eligible role.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the definitive technical resource for mechanical contractors and Engineers of Record (EORs), supporting mechanical system design and maintaining construction momentum
• Perform periodic site walk-throughs to verify mechanical installations align with engineered specifications, focusing on pressure testing and equipment placement
• Lead the field-side RFI process to resolve spatial or mechanical conflicts, providing immediate engineering solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
• 10 years of experience with thermal topology, including evaporative and non-evaporative cooling systems
• 10 years of experience with piping and fluid dynamics, including chilled water plant overviews and hydronic balancing
• 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering
• General understanding of electrical systems for effective cross-discipline collaboration
