Mechanical Engineering Design Manager

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Design Manager, the full-time role will manage design input on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance, innovation, and efficiency while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage contracts with external design consultants and contractors, ensuring compliance and appropriate action when necessary
• Lead technical assurance, evaluate constructability, and guide the design process without accepting or amending designs
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to drive the development of sustainable engineering solutions

Required qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full project lifecycle across various sectors
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status with CIBSE, IMechE, or similar preferred
• Strong understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and integrated design delivery
• Practical knowledge of construction methods and design solutions, with experience in CAD (AutoCAD or Revit)
