Mechanical Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary

To support the delivery of a major semiconductor manufacturing facility, the full-time remote Senior Mechanical Estimator / Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing and presenting mechanical cost estimates, managing commercial aspects of complex Mechanical Building Services, and evaluating contractor tenders.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on strategies, assess proposals, and manage the appointment process for vendors
• Independently evaluate contractor tenders and prepare commercial recommendations
• Review and negotiate variations, change orders, and compensation events while providing side-by-side cost comparisons

Required qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying and/or estimating within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and industry technical matters
• Experience supporting cost management on medium to large-sized construction projects
• RICS accreditation or progress towards it is valuable
• Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred
