Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely collection of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist will verify patient eligibility, conduct research on unpaid claims, and update patient information while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and obtain patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services
• Conduct research to status unpaid or denied claims and secure payment from payers
• Update patient demographics and insurance information in relevant systems

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up
• Experience identifying billing errors and resubmitting claims
• Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and third-party payer billing procedures
• Demonstrated ability to navigate accounts receivable software and Microsoft Office
