Medical AR Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely collections of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Medical AR Denials and Edits Specialist will follow up on accounts receivable, interact with various stakeholders, and resolve denials while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and status updates on unpaid or denied claims, including verifying patient eligibility and authorization
• Contact payers to secure payment of claims and write appeal letters for technical appeals as needed
• Monitor claims for missing information and update patient demographics and insurance information in appropriate systems

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of accounts receivable experience within the healthcare revenue cycle
• Minimum of 2 years' experience with Medi-Cal
• 2+ years of experience with healthcare and/or insurance billing and processing
• High School diploma
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word, including basic formulas
