Job Summary
To support the billing operations remotely, the Medical Biller will manage the timely and accurate billing of medical claims across multiple states while collaborating with the billing and coding team.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure billing and insurance follow-up are achieved within performance standards
- Monitor accounts daily to maximize reimbursement opportunities and manage claim denials and rejections
- Develop and maintain communication with payers and accurately record payments from them
Required qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in healthcare billing or systems
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
- Experience working with government payers to resolve reimbursement issues is preferred
- Knowledge of CMS, HIPAA, and other regulations related to billing and collections
- Proficiency with various billing software applications, such as SAMMS, KIPU, and/or RPMS
