Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Medical Billing Specialist will manage the entire billing cycle, including accurate code assignment, claim submission, payment posting, and denial resolution, while ensuring compliance and timely reimbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes according to payer guidelines
• Investigate and follow up on unpaid balances, working with insurance carriers to resolve reimbursement issues
• Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation in the practice management system

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting
• Strong understanding of medical coding standards (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and billing workflows
• Experience in Sleep Medicine and/or DME billing preferred
• Professional coding certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, or RHIA) is a plus
• Experience working with private medical practices or outpatient clinics preferred
