Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support client access to care, the full-time Medical Billing Specialist will verify insurance benefits, document details accurately, and communicate coverage information while working remotely from CT, NY, NJ, or MA.

Key responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility and behavioral health benefits before services are provided
• Document verification details and communicate benefits and coverage concerns to appropriate teams
• Follow up on discrepancies and maintain organized supporting documentation while adhering to HIPAA guidelines

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least 1 year of experience in insurance verification, patient access, and/or medical billing
• Knowledge of eligibility, benefits, and patient responsibility
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
