Medical Coding Reimbursement Assistant
Job Summary
Joining the Financial Clearance - Surgery Team, the full-time Medical Coding Reimbursement Assistant will meticulously extract data, apply ICD-9 CM and CPT procedure codes for accurate billing, and coordinate billing and collections with external agencies while working remotely with an on-site training requirement of approximately one week.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate professional and technical billings/collections with internal departments and external agencies
- Screen medical records for claims-related liability issues and assist in auditing for billing accuracy
- Act as a liaison between third-party payers and departments to resolve audit discrepancies
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in medical coding, medical office technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience in interpreting healthcare documentation for accurate claims
