Medical Editor

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Medical Editor will edit and proofread scientific and medical communications for accuracy and clarity, manage multiple projects, and contribute to competitive intelligence writing while ensuring compliance with style guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Edit and proofread materials for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with various style requirements
• Perform data checking to verify scientific information and claims, ensuring they are supported by source references
• Manage assigned work across multiple projects, delivering high-quality outputs on time and communicating proactively with teams

Required qualifications

• Degree in a scientific or related field; advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, MSc, or equivalent) is advantageous
• 1+ years of experience in medical or scientific editing within a healthcare consultancy or medical communications agency
• Working knowledge of medical style guides, such as the AMA Manual of Style
• Knowledge of copyright permissions and reference-retrieval tools in the medical communications industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and reference management software like EndNote
