Medical Insurance Specialist
Job Summary
To support a growing team, the remote Medical Insurance Specialist will handle prior authorizations and insurance verifications while communicating with patients and providers during business hours, Monday through Friday.
Key responsibilities
- Manage prior authorizations and verify insurance coverage for patients
- Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance payers via telephone and email
- Receive and respond to inbound and outbound calls related to insurance inquiries
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in medical insurance, specifically in prior authorizations
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid program administration
- Knowledge of insurance verification and claim adjudication or medical billing
- Familiarity with ICD-10, HCPCS, or CPT coding is a significant plus
- No attendance issues in previous roles
