Medical Insurance Verification Specialist
Job Summary
Detail-oriented and customer-focused, the full-time Remote Medical Insurance Verification Specialist will assist patients in obtaining coverage for prescription medications while working from home during assigned shifts between 8 AM and 9 PM EST, with weekends off.
Key responsibilities
- Assist patients with obtaining coverage for prescription medications through inbound and outbound calls
- Utilize call center software to conduct account research and update notes
- Place calls to insurance companies on behalf of patient needs while adhering to call center metrics and HIPAA regulations
Required qualifications
- At least 1 year of recent medical insurance verification or benefits experience is mandatory
- Previous experience in prior authorization and claims, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Must have a quiet and secure location at home to work
- High-speed internet with hardwired modem access is required; hotspots are not accepted
- Computer proficiency with the ability to learn new software and navigate multiple screens
