Medical Records Specialist
Job Summary
To ensure timely and accurate processing of release of information requests, the full-time remote ROI Medical Records Specialist will manage patient medical records while safeguarding privacy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Completes and processes release of information requests, including retrieving and scanning medical records
- Validates requests and authorizations for medical information release according to established procedures
- Provides excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring understanding of requests
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma (GED) required
- A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
- Strong computer software experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to type 50 wpm
- Proven customer satisfaction skills and ability to multi-task
