Medical Reimbursement Specialist

Job Summary

Resolving open insurance balances, the remote Medical Reimbursement Specialist will research unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims while applying billing and payment guidelines to meet collection goals.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate resolution of open receivables by reviewing coding, billing, and contract agreements
• Diagnose and report issues regarding rejection and denial trends to management
• Maintain accurate documentation of claim follow-up activities and address inquiries related to adjustments and account changes

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in medical billing or reimbursement
• Knowledge of insurance claims processing and billing guidelines
• Familiarity with Epic system for patient demographics and claims management
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
