Medicare Policy Analyst
Job Summary
Supporting CMS rulemaking activities, the part-time Medicare Policy Analyst will conduct policy research and analysis, draft regulatory materials, and develop high-quality deliverables related to the Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities Prospective Payment System and Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs, all in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and review notices of proposed and final rulemaking for CMS programs
- Research legislative and regulatory history, and analyze Medicare program requirements to support policy development
- Identify and document policy changes required for program implementation and draft revisions to Medicare manuals
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare policy analysis or regulatory writing
- Experience supporting state or federal government agencies, preferably related to CMS or Medicare programs
- Working knowledge of Medicare payment systems and federal rulemaking processes
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to evaluate policy and regulatory requirements
