Merchandise Planning Director

Job Summary

Leading the Inventory Planning function, the remote Associate Director, Merchandise Planning will manage forecasting, open-to-buy, and inventory strategy across categories, while driving the evolution of planning capabilities and team development.

Key responsibilities

• Own sales and inventory forecasts, ensuring accuracy and accountability for inventory plans and KPIs
• Set inventory strategy for fine jewelry assortments, balancing service levels against inventory productivity
• Create and drive the Inventory Planning roadmap, partnering with Technology on system implementation and adoption

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in merchandise or inventory planning, forecasting, or quantitative analysis within retail or e-commerce
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree or certification is a plus
• Expertise in demand planning software and reporting tools, with hands-on experience leading system implementations
• Proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas and financial modeling, along with retail math skills
• Experience with AI-assisted tools for analysis automation and familiarity with connecting AI tools to live data sources
