Job Summary
Functioning as the sole expert for financial analysis, the full-time Michigan Licensed Financial Specialist will manage complex financial reports and studies for the Michigan Department of Transportation, ensuring data integrity and efficient business processes while collaborating with various state agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- Analyze and develop financial reporting for individual program areas within MDOT
- Create complex financial studies and provide expert advice on financial data
- Act as the liaison to the Department of Technology and Management and Budget for financial reporting issues
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with at least 12 semester credits in accounting, finance, or economics
- Four years of professional experience as a Financial Analyst or equivalent roles
- Two years of experience equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11, Accountant P11, or Auditor P11
- One year of experience equivalent to a Financial Analyst 12, Accountant 12, or Auditor 12 may be required
- Possession of a Certificate in Public Accounting (CPA) may substitute for one year of experience
