Job Summary

Functioning as the sole expert for complex financial analysis, the full-time Michigan Licensed Financial Specialist will manage financial reporting for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), ensuring data integrity and developing efficient business processes, with potential for remote work options.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop financial reporting for various program areas within MDOT
• Create complex financial studies and provide expert advice on financial data
• Act as the liaison to the Department of Technology and Management and Budget for financial reporting issues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with at least 12 semester credits in accounting, finance, or economics
• Four years of professional experience as a Financial Analyst or equivalent roles
• Two years of experience equivalent to a Financial Analyst P11, Accountant P11, or Auditor P11, or one year equivalent to a Financial Analyst 12, Accountant 12, or Auditor 12
• Possession of a Certificate in Public Accounting (CPA) may substitute for one year of experience
• Extensive knowledge of the Statewide Integrated Governmental Management Application (SIGMA) is preferred
