Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Microgrid Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement microgrid control solutions remotely, integrating various energy sources and ensuring reliable automation and control systems from design through field startup.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement microgrid control solutions integrating natural-gas generators, battery energy storage systems, solar PV, and utility service
- Develop, modify, and deploy software for automation controllers, SCADA systems, and human-machine interfaces
- Prepare and execute factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and commissioning procedures while troubleshooting integration issues
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, computer engineering, or a related field
- 4 to 8 years of experience in power-distribution controls, industrial automation, or microgrid applications
- Understanding of electric power systems, microgrid operations, and distributed energy resources
- Experience programming automation controllers or PLCs using ladder logic or structured text
- Knowledge of industrial communications protocols such as Modbus and IEC 61850
