Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Mid-Level Java Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain Java application software and integrations while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and reliable solutions for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java application software throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Translate requirements into maintainable code, automated tests, and secure error handling
- Participate in code reviews, defect resolution, and documentation while supporting production environments
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in Java or a closely related technology stack
- Experience with APIs, automated testing, source control, and CI/CD practices
- Strong debugging skills and familiarity with secure coding and SDLC practices
- Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or clinical application workflows is preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain required government credentials, including a PIV where applicable
