Military Peer Support Specialist

Job Summary

Providing culturally competent peer support, the full-time Military Peer Support Specialist III will engage with individuals seeking assistance via phone, chat, and text, while ensuring their needs drive service delivery and maintaining accurate documentation in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships to identify emotional and behavioral changes in individuals served
• Conduct thorough telephone screenings using standardized templates to assess service needs
• Document all interactions and maintain up-to-date knowledge of eligibility criteria for various programs

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least three years of active duty service or relevant National Guard experience
• Ability to use a computer for recording services and performing office functions
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Experience in crisis situations and handling phone requests under pressure
