Military Peer Support Specialist

Job Summary

To support individuals in need, the full-time Military Peer Support Specialist will provide person-centered, culturally competent services through a remote arrangement, handling requests via telephone, chat, and text while offering peer support and appropriate referrals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain peer-to-peer relationships to identify emotional, psychiatric, or behavioral changes in individuals served
• Utilize standardized templates to conduct thorough telephone screenings of service needs across various populations
• Document all contact information and input data accurately in accordance with departmental protocols

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least three years of active duty service or equivalent experience in a combat zone or National Guard
• Demonstrated ability to use a computer for recording services and basic office functions
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
