Job Summary
Providing culturally responsive interpretation services, the full-time Spanish Spoken Language Healthcare Interpreter will support communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers in various care settings while ensuring equitable access to high-quality care.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret accurately and completely, considering cultural context and the demands of the situation
- Facilitate communication across cultural differences and alert parties to significant disparities impacting outcomes
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the NCIHC Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 40 hours of formal training in healthcare interpreting
- 2 years of Remote Healthcare Interpreting or 1 year Remote and 1 year Onsite Medical Interpreting experience
- Proof of appropriate work area setup in compliance with Remote Work from Home agreement
- Inclusion on the Minnesota Department of Health Spoken Language Interpreter Roster upon hire
