Job Summary
To support the Emergency Department, the full-time Minnesota Licensed Medical Coder will identify and assign appropriate ICD-10 Codes, CPT, and modifiers for facility services while adhering to coding guidelines, with the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S.
Key responsibilities:
- Expertly assign ICD-10 Codes, CPT, and modifiers for Emergency Department services in compliance with coding guidelines
- Maintain required levels of coding quality and productivity as established by the organization
- Participate in coding department meetings and educational events to stay updated on coding practices
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Professional coder certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC (e.g., CCA, CCS, CPC)
- 2+ years of experience with ICD-10, CPT, and facility charging, specifically in Emergency Room coding
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and various EMR systems
- Commitment to maintaining up-to-date coding knowledge and ethical standards
