Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Minnesota Retirement Plan Specialist will manage the administration, testing, and reporting of 401(k) plans, ensuring client compliance and document accuracy while providing support throughout the year-end reporting process.
Key responsibilities
- Review client-submitted documents for completeness and accuracy while obtaining necessary information for annual reporting
- Utilize administration software to perform 401(k) testing, reconcile plans, and prepare government filings, including IRS Form 5500
- Educate clients on their 401(k) plan administration and maintain proactive communication regarding the reporting process
Required qualifications
- 1 to 5 years of experience in back-office financial operations, including benefits administration or compliance support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Direct experience with retirement plan operations, including 401(k) administration and year-end reporting
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or finance, or equivalent work experience
- Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred
