Missouri Licensed Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

To support the health information management team, the full-time Missouri Licensed Inpatient Coder will assign diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient encounters while adhering to regulatory guidelines and collaborating with various departments.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately abstract data elements as required for inpatient coding
• Stay current with coding conventions, regulatory guidelines, and BJC coding guidance
• Review and analyze patient encounters to ensure compliant coding and appropriate DRG assignment

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification in coding (CCS, CCA, RHIA, or RHIT)
• No prior experience required
