Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the PRN Missouri Licensed Inpatient Coder II will accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient encounters while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and collaborating with various departments.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately abstracts required data elements and stays updated on coding conventions and regulatory guidelines
• Thoroughly reviews patient encounters for compliant coding and queries providers for clarification as needed
• Collaborates effectively with leadership and colleagues to maintain the integrity of medical records and coding compliance

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-5 years of inpatient coding experience
• Certification as CCS, RHIA, or RHIT
• No supervisory experience required
