Monitoring Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a motivated Monitoring Engineer, the full-time remote position will manage and administer the Nagios XI platform, onboard new devices, and design custom monitoring scripts across Windows and Linux systems.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain and administer the Nagios XI platform, including upgrades and general platform health
- Onboard new devices and services into monitoring to ensure comprehensive coverage
- Design and maintain custom checks and monitoring scripts across various systems
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Over 3 years of systems/network administration experience, with at least 2 years administering Nagios XI
- Solid scripting ability in Bash and/or Python for Linux, and PowerShell for Windows
- Working knowledge of SNMP, NRPE/NCPA, and common network/server monitoring protocols
- Understanding of networking fundamentals as they relate to monitoring connectivity
