Mortgage Insurance Underwriter
Job Summary
Reviewing and underwriting mortgage insurance applications, the full-time salaried Mortgage Insurance Underwriter will determine risk acceptability in accordance with established guidelines while delivering exceptional customer service, either from Radnor, PA or a remote location.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite mortgage insurance application files to assess acceptable risk based on published guidelines
- Analyze loan characteristics and risk factors to make sound underwriting decisions
- Document underwriting decisions and communicate effectively with lenders and team members regarding loan level decisions
Required qualifications
- High School diploma/GED; bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred
- Three (3) years of underwriting experience in the mortgage banking industry required
- Specific mortgage insurance industry experience and knowledge of premium coverage requirements desirable
- Expertise in Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac underwriting guidelines and DU/LPA automated underwriting systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and imaging/workflow systems
