Mortgage Underwriter
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Mortgage Underwriter will perform thorough analyses of loan files to ensure compliance with company and investor guidelines while maintaining productivity standards and assisting in the training of new underwriters.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of loan files to verify compliance with FHA/VA guidelines and company standards
- Underwrite credit packages and collateral for residential mortgage loans, ensuring investment quality
- Maintain productivity levels by meeting underwriting turnaround times and providing timely communication of loan decisions
Required qualifications
- Minimum three years of mortgage underwriting experience with a strong understanding of underwriting guidelines
- Experience with private investor and private mortgage insurance guidelines
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Technological proficiency and ability to use underwriting software effectively
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
