Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Mortgage Underwriter will analyze loan files for compliance with guidelines, underwrite credit packages for residential mortgage loans, and ensure investment quality loan products.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis of loan files to determine compliance with company, investor, and FHA/VA guidelines
- Underwrite credit packages and collateral, ensuring investment quality and timely turnaround on decisions
- Assist in training new underwriters and maintain underwriting activity logs while communicating decisions to relevant parties
Required qualifications
- Minimum three years of mortgage underwriting experience with knowledge of underwriting guidelines
- Experience with private investor and private mortgage insurance guidelines
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Technologically proficient with strong organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical capabilities
