Mortgage Underwriting Team Lead
Job Summary
Leading the Mortgage Underwriting team, the full-time remote Mortgage Underwriting Team Lead will oversee the underwriting of first and second mortgages, ensure compliance with guidelines, and provide leadership and support to the underwriting staff.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite mortgage loan files in compliance with guidelines and credit union policies
- Monitor the mortgage pipeline to ensure timely processing and balanced workloads
- Provide coaching and training to underwriting staff while implementing process improvements
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of five years of experience in mortgage underwriting at a financial institution
- At least three years of leadership or supervisory experience in a related field
- Knowledge of secondary market guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Experience with technology and automation tools in the mortgage industry preferred
