Multi-State Payroll Manager

Job Summary

Supporting the transition to an in-house payroll architecture, the full-time Payroll Manager will manage multi-state US payroll operations, oversee Canadian payroll execution, and evaluate India payroll strategies in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the migration from a PEO model to an in-house global payroll system, establishing automated workflows and controls
• Execute full-cycle multi-state US payroll and ensure compliance with Canadian payroll regulations
• Assess and develop the roadmap for India payroll execution, ensuring local compliance and operational readiness

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll administration, preferably in a fast-growing tech company
• Deep technical knowledge of US multi-state payroll and Canadian payroll regulations
• Hands-on experience with payroll platforms such as Rippling, ADP, or Workday, and NetSuite ERP integration
• Exceptional discretion in handling sensitive employee data and strong communication skills
• Strong analytical skills with a history of automating payroll processes to enhance efficiency
